Modus operandi The Yugoslavian pavilion in Venice, acting as a reservoir of the existing space from the previous century, is endangered. The third and final step is to explain how this will work. The main entrance of the pavilion will be closed with a brick wall. This demonstrates the abandonment of the existing space and marks it as prohibited for living. This enclosed dark space represents the ruins of the Yugoslavian living space utopia. Here one may find domestic objects covered with dust, or neatly packed with plastic foils, illuminated by the towering spotlights. Cumbersome objects that the homo-movens was unable to carry with him. The front façade of the pavilion is covered with scaffolding. The scaffold demonstrates both a physical and metaphorical shift from the existing space to the other space. Finally, the other space is the DIY upgrade above the pavilion’s roof, portraying the space where we will live together parallel to the existing space – a museum window that glimpses down the remains of modern prehistory.
